Fly Tying Patterns

Although insect life varies from river to river, country to country there are many fly tying patterns that are used world wide. We can therefore break trout fishing flies down into several groups; Dry, Wet, Nymphs, and Streamers

- The "up wing" or mayfly type of fly
- The sedge flies
- Gnats and midges
- The stone flies
- Small fish, smelt, cock-a-bullies
- Egg or roe imitations
- And some flies that don't represent anything, but just work.
